2024 Audition Applications are now closed.
If you missed the audition application deadline, or are wishing to join SYO Prep, please submit an Expression of Interest or contact us.
Musicians who play an endangered instrument such as Viola, Double Bass, Bassoon, Trombone, Tuba, and Percussion are encouraged to also submit an Expression of Interest. Musicians will then be contacted if a place becomes available.

How Auditions Work
Decide
Before you apply, select the appropriate ensemble based on your skill and experience level. Check out our Programs for more information
Apply
Apply online through the SYO Audition form.
Download
Once you submit your Audition Application form, you will be sent the Audition Materials to download and practice.
Practice
Now is the time to practice for your audition. Take the Audition Materials to your music tutor and practice so that you are ready to record.
Attend
Attend an SYO Audition Information session via Zoom.
Record
It is now time to record your Audition Materials. Check out our tips on how to record the best audition.
Submit
Once you feel happy with your recording, it is time to submit. For more questions about submitting your audition, please take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions.
Results
Audition results will be released early December via email.
Enrol
Offers will close in early January.
