Video Submissions Open: Tuesday, 23rd September 2025
Video Submissions Close: Thursday, 16th October, 2025
Late Video Submissions Close: Tuesday 18th November, 2025
Offers & Scholarship Results Sent: Thursday, 18th December, 2025
How Auditions Work
Decide
Before you apply, decide on your desired ensemble based on your skill and experience level - but don't worry as you can also change this after you apply. Check out the 'Programs' tab above for more information. If you have questions about how auditions work, come to one of our online Q&A sessions!
Apply
Apply online through the SYO Audition Application form.
Attend
Got questions about the auditions process? Attend an SYO Audition Q&A session online.
Instructions
Once you submit your Audition Application form, you will be sent your Audition Instructions. Shortly after applications close you will also be sent your Audition Excerpts.
Practice
Now is the time to practice your audition excerpts. Take the Audition Materials and Excerpts to your music tutor!
Record
It is now time to record your Audition Materials and Excerpts. Check out our tips on how to record the best audition.
Submit
Once you feel happy with your recording, it is time to submit. You will be sent a link to submit your video. For more questions about submitting your audition, please take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions.
Results
Audition results will be released.
Enrol
Offers typically close in late January.
