One of Sydney Youth Orchestras’ three full-scale symphonic orchestras, The Philharmonic Orchestra brings together seventy of the state’s finest young musicians under conductor Stephen Williams.

The Philharmonic Orchestra gives musicians the chance to extend their orchestral technique and ensemble skills through masterpieces of the orchestral canon – exploring a diverse and demanding body of work that spans the Late-Romantic masters Wagner, Brahms and Tchaikovsky, twentieth-century composers including Shostakovich, Holst and Prokofiev, and on through to champion contemporary and Australian voices.
