Making a Bequest
A bequest establishes an enduring legacy that will provide for future generations of SYO musician.
John Speer was a wonderful musician and a man who made such an extraordinary contribution over many years to the musical lives of countless musicians who passed through the ranks of the String Orchestra and other Sydney Youth Orchestras ensembles. In 2017 we have named our bequest fund in his memory.
Let the music play on through making a bequest to the Sydney Youth Orchestras in your will. SYO endeavors to provide excellent music education opportunities for young people regardless of their financial or geographical situation. Join our community of visionary supporters to ensure continued educational success for the next generation of young musicians.
As a member of our Speer Circle, you will be offered the opportunity to be recognised by SYO in concert programs and on our website. Members of the Speer Circle are invited to attend exclusive open rehearsals and special events throughout the year.

Please consult your legal adviser when remembering SYO in your will. We ask that you consider giving a general-purpose bequest to ensure your gift is directed where it is most needed within the organisation to ensure the financial security of SYO.
Examples of bequests are set out below.
I GIVE AND BEQUEATH % of my Estate to SYDNEY YOUTH ORCHESTRA INC (ABN 63 886 284 698) to be used for its general purpose and I DIRECT that the receipt of the Chief Executive Officer or other authorised officer for the time being of the organisation is an absolute discharge of my executor(s).
I GIVE AND BEQUEATH the residue of my Estate to SYDNEY YOUTH ORCHESTRA INC (ABN 63 886 284 698) to be used for its general purpose and I DIRECT that the receipt of the Chief Executive Officer or other authorised officer for the time being of the organisation is an absolute discharge of my executor(s).
