Perfect for high school music students aged 12-19 (Years 7-12).

The program focuses on:

  • Musical notation
  • Chords and harmony
  • History of orchestral music
  • Score reading and analysis
  • Melodic and rhythmic dictation
  • Sight-singing

Perfect preparation or extension add-on course for students aged 14-19 (Years 9-12).

Ideal for those intending to, or who are currently studying Music 2* and/or Music Extension.

The program focuses on:

  • Score analysis
  • Rhythmic and melodic dictation
  • Sight-singing
  • Key paradigms of the period
  • Works of Bach, Beethoven and Brahms
  • Emergence of the symphonic form

*Music (1600-1900) is a mandatory topic of HSC study for Year 11 Music 2.

  • Sight-singing
  • Score analysis
  • Works of composers such as Debussy, Messiaen and Schoenberg
  • Composers’ influence on the Western art music aesthetic

*Music (1900-Present) focuses on essential general knowledge for the HSC Music 2 course.
