Perfect preparation or extension add-on course for students aged 14-19 (Years 9-12). Ideal for those intending to, or who are currently studying Music 2* and/or Music Extension.

The program focuses on:

  • Chronological journey through Western art music (1600–Present)
  • Works of Bach, Beethoven and Brahms
  • Development of the symphonic form
  • Late Romanticism, Serialism, and Post-Modernism
  • Key works by Debussy, Messiaen, and Schoenberg
  • Defining musical ideas of each period

*Orchestral Music 1600–Present covers several areas of essential knowledge for HSC Music 2, including the mandatory Year 11 topic Music (1600-1900) and core content for Music (1900-Present).
