He studied flute and conducting at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music before being awarded a Big Brother Scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music in London, and his performance life has taken him from the SYO senior ensemble — where he was once a student himself — to stages in Chile, Cuba and Italy, as well as beloved Australian festivals including Four Winds in Bermagui. For 15 years Christopher served as Head of Woodwind, Brass & Percussion at MLC School, before moving to his current role at Cranbrook School in 2015, where he continues to inspire the next generation of musicians. A frequent guest conductor and presenter for the Sydney Conservatorium, Sydney University and the SYO, Christopher is a familiar and much-admired figure across the Australian music education community. He is looking forward enormously to making music with the SYO this winter.
