Productions & Events - Coordinator
Sydney Youth Orchestras (SYO) is at the forefront of youth orchestral music in Australia. We’re seeking a Production and Events Coordinator to join our dynamic Production Team and help us bring unforgettable musical experiences to life.
Position: Coordinator, Production and Events
Location: Ultimo, Sydney
Organization: Sydney Youth Orchestras
Employment Type: Part-time (0.8 FTE)
Salary range: $50-55,000 (Pro rata) p.a. plus superannuation, commensurate with experience.
This is a part-time position (4 days per week), including one weekend day supervising rehearsals and three days based in the SYO office in Ultimo. You’ll play a key role in coordinating rehearsals, concerts, and events, ensuring everything runs smoothly — from behind-the-scenes logistics to supporting our young musicians on stage.

Required:
- A passion for music and working with young people
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience with computer software / systems and ability to quickly learn new systems
- A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Degree qualifications (or equivalent) in Music and/or Music Education, or equivalent professional experience
- Full (Unrestricted) NSW Driver’s License
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
- Experience with preparing/printing sheet music for rehearsal and performance, including the organisation and management of orchestral music library
- Experience managing orchestral rehearsals and performances
- Proven ability to work with different stakeholders
