Big Busk 2024
Saturday September 28th, clear your calendars, grab all that spare change that’s lying about, dig deep, and prepare yourselves for a vibrant day of music making all over the city.
Our biggest annual fundraising event will consist of all of our orchestras performing all over the CBD connecting Sydneysiders and beyond, through the power of music, whilst battling it out with peer-to-peer fundraising for the ultimate orchestra prize… the revered Ice Cream Party!
Let’s repeat last year’s success and work together to hit our fundraising goal of $50K again in 2024!
We will also be livestreaming all day from our new rehearsal space at Haymarket so no matter what you are doing on September 28th, you can join us.
The Big Busk is Australia’s only public celebration of youth and orchestral music. Your donations greatly help shape the sound of the future by supporting young musicians today.

Why Busk?
SYO receives less than 7% in Government funding which is why we rely on you, our generous donors to keep doing what we do.
These funds will be essential for us to:
- Purchase “endangered” instruments
- Purchase sheet music for our music library
- Support business infrastructure
- Find a permanent home!
