By purchasing a product or service from Sydney Youth Orchestras you consent to the terms and conditions outlined below. If you are purchasing a ticket, -audition or enrolment on behalf of another person you consent on the behalf of that person as their agent.
For Sydney Youth Orchestras (SYO) to process your ticket or enrolment request we collect, hold and use your personal information. It is essential that all information provided is up to date. It is your responsibility to insure SYO is informed of any changes to this information. SYO cannot be held responsible for any action carried out based on information which is incorrect. SYO reserves the right to administer First Aid and to call an ambulance should we deem it appropriate.
All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges except in the event of a cancellation or rescheduling as iterated in the Live Performance Australia Code of Practice for the Ticketing of Live Entertainment in Australia. Program fees are calculated for the full program and will not be refunded if a participant cannot attend or for any partial absences. If electing to pay by instalment the full program fee must be paid even if a participant cannot attend.
A booking fee may be applicable to this transaction.
Prompt collection of participants at the end of events and programs is paramount. Parents and guardians will be changed $2 for every minute past the collection time a participant remains in the care of SYO. Payment of this fee will be required before the participant is able to return to the program.
SYO and its venue manager reserve the right of admission.
SYO reserves the right to photograph, record, and broadcast any event or program. Where the parent or guardian of a student under the age of 18 has expressly advised SYO in writing that the child is not to be photographed, recorded or broadcast every effort will be made to insure the student is either excluded from these activities or not be identifiable.
Cameras and other recording devices are prohibited in the event and program venues. Mobile telephones, pagers and similar equipment must be turned off before entry into the event and program venues.
Tickets are valid only when purchased from SYO or an authorised agent. Lost or forgotten tickets will only be replaced where SYO is satisfied that such tickets have been purchased by you in accordance with these terms and conditions, and where proof of purchase is available.
SYO reserves the right to vary, substitute or withdraw advertised programs, artists, venue and seating arrangements. SYO is not liable to you for any claims, damages, compensation, losses or expenses as a result of a SYO event or program being cancelled, postponed or changed.
Patrons and Participants who disrupt an event or program may be asked to leave the venue. For participants under the age of 18, parent or guardians will be contacted and asked to collect the participant immediately.
To the extent permitted by the law, you release SYO (including its directors, officers, employees, consultants, contractors, agents and volunteers) from any liability for any damage, loss, liability or injury you may suffer in relation to your attendance or participation at a venue, how so ever caused, including due to any negligence or other act or omission of SYO.
You agree to compensate SYO for any damage, loss, liability or injury SYO may suffer as a result of your willful, reckless or negligent acts or omissions at a venue.
You acknowledge that you are responsible for your own property during attendance at an SYO program or event. This includes instruments.
From time to time, SYO may make offers in relation to services available to ticket holders. These offers are subject to change without notice. SYO is not responsible for the performance of third parties in relation to any offer or service.
SYO may also collect and use your personal information to provide you with information about programs, activities and events which may be of interest to you or to request your support for the Orchestras. You may opt out of receiving our communications at any time by using the opt out provided in each communication, or by contacting us on 02 9251 2422 or at [email protected].

SYO may choose not to enforce some or all these terms and conditions, on a case by case basis. This does not mean that SYO waives its right to enforce some or all these terms and conditions as it sees fit. If any of these terms and conditions cannot be enforced, the remaining terms will survive.
Your agreement with SYO to these terms and conditions is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth and the state of New South Wales.
