SYO has launched our inaugural Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan!

Sydney Youth Orchestras is committed to contributing to the reconciliation journey and a more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable orchestral practice that truthfully reflects the diversity and richness of our collective cultural identity.

We recognise the privilege, significance and responsibility of our work as artists and educators to inspire our community and to amplify the stories and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We see our contribution to reconciliation through our Innovate RAP to build a foundation of respect, cultural understanding, and enriching relationships with First Nations peoples. We commit to continue to build our cultural competency within the organisation, and to share this knowledge with the thousands of young musicians, audience members and stakeholders we work with each year.
