2025 Key Dates - The. Sydney Youth Orchestra

  • Being a member of The Sydney Youth Orchestra is a serious commitment. All absences from any program need to be submitted to the SYO Musicians and Training team for approval via the Absence Form in SYO Online. The SYO Musicians and Training team may contact you to discuss your absence and will contact you if your absence is not approved.
  • Absence approval will not be granted for members to rehearse with other organisations paid or otherwise and approval will only be granted to perform with other groups where the performance date has been set and the player engaged prior to SYO rehearsal and performance dates being set
  • NO absences are permitted for the SYO2 project and any absences during SYO2 may mean exclusion from the rest of the project. 
  • Brass, Woodwind and Percussion players are required to find other musicians of an equivalent standard to replace them in the event of an absence.
