Being a member of the SYO Symphonic Program is a serious commitment. If SYO Symphonic program musicians miss mroe than 2 rehearsals a semester SYO may ask another player on the reserve list to replace them for either their upcoming performance or the remainder of the year. The final 2 rehearsals before a concert are compulsory, and members who miss these rehearsals may be asked to sit out of the performance unless specific approval is given by SYO Musicians and Training staff. Brass, Woodwind and Percussion players may be required to find other musicians of an equivalent standard to cover for them on days of absence.
