Stage 2, SYO Strings

Students in Stage Two are introduced to increasingly complex orchestral concepts and refine the skills required to effectively and confidently sight read, progressively master challenging rhythms, and interpret musical markings with deeper stylistic understanding. Repertoire for Stage Two ensembles includes arrangements of music from the classical canon by Schubert, Faure, and Stravinsky, and even includes works written especially for the ensembles by up-and-coming Australian composers.

Rehearsals: Saturday, Santa Sabina College, Strathfield

Approximate minimum standard AMEB Grade 3 or equivalent. However, please note that AMEB grades are a guideline only and have no bearing on audition results or ensemble placement.
