The evening proceeded with the debut performance of SYO's newest ensemble - SYCE (Sydney Youth Chamber Ensemble), who performed under the guidance of Artistic Director Umberto Clerici - principal Cellist at the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Formalities were opened with an official introduction from SYO General Manager, Mia Patoulios who spoke on the invaluable support of the SYO contributors who give students across NSW the opportunity to access SYO's programs and be given the chance to reach their musical potential that would otherwise be out of their reach.

The formal part of the evening concluded with a performance by SYCE and Umberto Clerici on cello. The evening proceeded into further networking and the opportunity to show support for SYO.

The SYO Opportunity Fund ensures that talented young people can have access to exceptional teachers and conductors regardless of their financial circumstances and allows us to provide programs for young musicians and communities in geographically isolated areas of New South Wales.
