What part will you play in SYO’s Giving Orchestra?
As a not-for-profit organisation, SYO relies on YOUR SUPPORT to deliver their programs. Government funding and participation fees do not fully cover operating costs. The number of young musicians SYO has the capacity to train each year is a direct result of the donations received.
Gabriel van Aalst, President and CEO of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra believes his time at SYO was transformational.
“I was a violinist in the SYO all through my childhood in the 2000s and recently I shared the story of how becoming involved in SYO set me on the course of my career by providing me with experiences beyond my wildest dreams. This was only made possible through the financial support provided by the SYO Opportunity Scholarship. Without this assistance, from the inspirational donors of the SYO, there is no way I would be running a world renown orchestra today. The experiences I had at the SYO changed my life forever and I will always be grateful to those philanthropic leaders and the institution that made this possible.
It occurred to me that I can and should do more to help others have access to the same experiences. I adore the SYO and the opportunity I was given, so I decided to donate to SYO on a monthly basis. There is no doubt the SYO changed my life and I hope you’ll join me in changing many more.”
By joining the SYO Giving Orchestra you too can play your part in supporting young musicians to have the experiences Gabriel had and cultivate the development and love for orchestral music in both Australia and beyond. By committing to a regular monthly donation, you are giving the gift of stability to both the organisation and the young people SYO support.
For as little as $1 a day you can support our young musicians to develop a progressive creative future, building their skills and providing them with a blueprint of values that will benefit them well beyond their youth.
SYO is offering a special incentive to join the SYO Giving Orchestra – Regular Giving Program before June 30, 2019. All active members of the SYO Giving Orchestra will go in the draw to win two tickets to Live at Level 28 (May draw) and The Chairs Dinner (July draw).
