  • Daniel Hope and the Zurich Chamber Orchestra

    Sydney Opera House

    From 7-9 September 2018, the very best senior string students from The Sydney Youth Orchestra will be selected to work exclusively with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra and violin virtuoso Daniel Hope over 3 days at Sydney Opera House. Following this intensive educational masterclass program, SYO young musicians will then perform on the Concert Hall stage with ZCO as the quartet soloists in Edward Elgar’s Introduction and Allegro for Strings.

  • Celebrating Strauss

    Verbrugghen Hall, Sydney Conservatorium of Music

    Enamoured with the female voice, Der Rosenkavalier is famed for the beautiful music of the three female protagonists, leaving early-20th-century audiences in awe of the exquisite duet and trios within the opera. And at the end of his life, his beloved Germany in ruins after the second world war, he wrote some of the most devastatingly moving music ever composed, most especially the Four Last Songs.
