Congratulations to James Pensini and the Symphonic Wind Orchestra who performed to over 40 000 people at the ANZAC Day NRL game between the Roosters and the Dragons for the ANZAC Commemorative Service.

In May Peter Corkill and James Pensini will make their first visit to our SYO State Central West Hub for 2018 to work with local musicians before the Peter Seymour Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Orchestra tour to Central West NSW on the 31st. This year there is also the opportunity for local musicians to ‘Join The Orchestra’ and experience life on tour with SYO.

Challenged by the University of Sydney’s Ruth Barcan (Department of Gender and Cultural Studies), composer Katy Abbott with conductor Iain Grandage and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra will deconstruct then reconstruct Introduced Species – Symphony No.2 by katy Abbott, concluding with a performance of the 20-minute work accompanied by projected visuals.
