April promises to be another exciting month in the SYO calendar.

SYO Out & About

Senior members of The Sydney Youth Orchestra are travelling down to Four Winds, Bermagui to run workshops with local musicians and perform at Four Winds Sound Shell, Barragga Bay on April 7 and 8. Book your tickets here.

This is the first visit to our new South East Hub, which is an exciting 3-year partnership with the Four Winds Festival. This partnership will see two SYO orchestras visit the region each year, working with local young musicians and presenting concerts for schools and communities.

Coming Up at SYO

Mahler Symphony No. 10 Adagio & Stravinsky Firebird Suite

On April 22, is The Sydney Youth Orchestra’s first major concert for the year, Mahler Symphony No. 10 Adagio & Stravinsky Firebird Suite conducted by Alexander Briger AO at Verbrugghen Hall.

SYO Musicians can redeem one $15 SYO Musician Ticket using the code on their musician card. They can allocate this ticket to anyone they like!

Winter Intensive and Winter School

We have also launched our Winter Intensive, a week-long, intensive music camp in Tamworth where musicians have the opportunity to work with some of Australia’s best conductors. Stay tuned for a special announcement of our guest conductors!

Live at Level 28

Tickets for our annual fundraiser, Live at Level 28, go on sale this week. For one-night SYO take over level 28 of the Deutsche Bank Building and create an exciting mini festival under the artistic direction of Umberto Clerici, Principal Cello of Sydney Symphony Orchestra. With exclusive access to the Allen’s Private Australian contemporary art collection, overlooking the vivid festival, regional wines from BackVintage and artisan food, this will be wonderful evening.All funds raised will go towards the SYO’s Opportunity Fund, which supports financial needs scholarships, western Sydney talent development and regional outreach programs. Providing opportunities to all young musicians regardless of financial or geographical circumstances.
