NO absences are permitted for the SYO2 project and any absences for SYO2 may mean exclusion from the rest of the project. (Permitted reasons for absences include sickness, compassionate grounds, compulsory school/university commitments or participation in cultural or religious holidays or activities.

Absences will not be granted for members to rehearse with other organizations paid or otherwise and leave will only be granted to perform with other groups where the performance date has been set and the player engaged prior to SYO rehearsal and performance dates being set.)

The final 2 rehearsals before a concert are compulsory. Members who miss these rehearsals or have otherwise poor attendance will lose their place in The. SYO and will be replaced by a musician on the reserve list. 

Brass, Woodwind and Percussion players are required to find other musicians of an equivalent standard to replace them in the event of an absence.
